COLOUR
Solid oak furniture is always associated with a dark finish
and yet all orders can be polished to each customer's personal
preference. As each order is polished by hand Douglas Hosking
Oak Furniture offers a colour matching service at no extra cost.
A finish can vary from a light waxing on the natural wood through
to a limed effect, caustic or even matching to a customer's
existing piece of furniture.
Douglas Hosking range of polished finishes: Standard (dark
oak), Fenton (light oak).
Additional polished finishes: Dark Antique, Cherry on Oak,
Caustic, Limed Oak, Natural Wax.
Colour samples of all finishes are available on request.
DISTRESSING
Our in-house team of French Polishers age and distress every
item of furniture by hand just before the polishing begins.
Always a fascination to visitors at the workshops, the polishers
use chains, stone and chippers to create the effect of years
of cherished use. Some people prefer a little others love a
heavier more beaten look. At Douglas Hosking we welcome customers'
requests to vary the degree of distressing to ensure the furniture
is to personal taste.
