Timber
Every piece of Douglas Hosking Oak Furniture can be made in alternative timbers. Cherry is the most popular and gives great results, along with walnut and maple. A selection of veneers and inlay details can also be incorporated into your personal design.
Colour
Solid oak furniture is often associated with a dark finish and yet you can ask for your furiture to be polished to your personal preference, including being matched to another piece of furniture you may have. Our finishes can vary from a light waxing on the natural wood to a limed effect, dark oak or cherry on oak effect. We are happy to discuss your requirements when you place your order.
Distressing
If you would like your furniture to look more traditional, our in-house team of French Polishers age and distress every item of furniture just before the polishing begins, using chains, stone and chippers to create the effect of years of cherished use. At Douglas Hosking, we welcome customers’ requests to vary the degree of distressing to ensure the furniture is to personal taste.
Sizes
As every piece of furniture is made to order, it is possible to alter the size to suit your needs. Maybe you need a table to fit a certain room, a cupbaord to fit in a certain space or a television stand to suit a particular TV.
